About IR Village
IR Village facilitates fruitful professional and social networking between members under the scope of international relations and foreign affairs. People that are related to the subject, academically or practically, will find plenty of useful tools and opportunities for expanding their professional network, finding partners for joint initiatives, projects or researches.
IR Village is for anyone who relates to IR and foreign affairs related areas, either as an academic discipline, as a matter of interest or as actual occupation: students, researchers, government officials, professional diplomats, NGO's, INGO's, activists, and more. IR Village aims to add another layer of functionality on top of traditional means available for those mentioned above; students can post their CV, look for relevant jobs, organizations can look for talented people, post jobs and promote their message and purposes. These are just a few possible uses that can be done using IR Village.
Here are a few simple steps you may take in order to start working within IR Village network:
- Upon signing up, establish a profile. Make it as elaborate as possible so that members with common points of interest may easily find you.
- Grow our community by inviting your contacts: this can be done either by writing their email addresses inside a designated box or by importing your contacts from your email software with the wizard.
- Search for members to connect with and send them an invitation.
- Write something - submit a blog, post to forum, and comment on others' contribution.
IR Village currently provides all the functionality that a social network has to offer. Yet we aim to further add more useful tools and services, dedicated for the needs of community's members. Here are some of the things we have cooking in our kitchen:
- Knowledgebase - a community based wiki for IR terminology, theories, historical dates and more
- IR Store - dedicated for IR related books and magazines
- Features for enhanced collaboration
We keep our eyes and ears open to your feedback and suggestions
